The Mallorca Files — graphic design, layout, packaging, web development, prop design by Indigo Estudio, Mallorca

Creating a fictional universe

One of the biggest challenges was designing all the official police documents, such as case files, police records and all kinds of documents that the characters handled on screen. Each file had to look authentic and be in keeping with the tone and aesthetic of the series. But it wasn’t just about paperwork: if a character was searching for something on Google, we couldn’t show a real interface. In those cases, I had to create fictional search engine brands and design computer interfaces, from search engines to digital file screens. This involved not only designing the screens, but also animating them one by one, so that the characters’ movements and on-screen interactions were perfectly synchronised with the action in the series.
